My entrepreneurship story roots from when I was 16 years old. I had just turned 16, my friend and I wanted to make money so we could begin to buy things that our parents wouldn't always pay for such as going out to eat at a place like Chipotle, or buying shoes we wanted but our parents wouldn't buy because we didn't need them. Because of this we decided to create our own local business, a handyman service. We were highly successful within our neighborhood and the surrounding neighborhoods. We worked this business for an entire summer handling jobs such as window washing, mulching, painting, and storm cleanup. This was my first encounter with entrepreneurship. It made me feel accomplished and proud because we said we were going to start a business to make money and we did so successfully.
I enrolled in ENT 3003 because I think it is very important for people to be able to formulate ideas for themselves and experiment with those ideas, allowing themselves to be creative in trying to make those ideas come to life.

ReplyDeleteHi Matt! At just 16 years old I am very impressed at what you were able to accomplish as such a young entrepreneur. You saw the problem of wanting to buy things that you wanted and found a solution using your skills as a handy man. With more helpful material and tips we will learn from this class, I know you will be able to improve on any other opportunity you might do in the future.
